Our goals start with your goals. Through personalized, evidence-based treatment approaches, and a foundation of care and connection, we will work together to build resilience & find joy again, even in the most challenging seasons. We recognize that every person has strengths and hopes, every person has flaws and experiences pain, and every person has the capacity to learn and grow. We feel deeply grateful to get to know all of these parts of the clients that we work with, and take great pride in joining with you as you adapt, right now.
At Wolfson Therapy, our purpose is our passion. Founded in 2021 by Dr. Dan Wolfson, PsyD - a Columbia University-trained grief specialist and clinical psychologist - Wolfson Therapy was built to better serve those impacted by loss, including adolescents and young adults navigating grief after the death of a parent, partner, or sibling; men and women seeking meaningful connection and growth; and adults moving through major life transitions in New York City and beyond.
Driven by a deep belief in their work and an authenticity in how they show up in the room, a group practice was built. Our team of therapists are eager to build meaningful relationships with you that lay the groundwork for real, sustainable change and growth.
From grief, to everyday stressors, Dan has made me feel comfortable with discussing whatever is pressing in my life, and continues to create the safest space for my feelings. Highly recommend!
There will never be enough good things to say about Dan. He is thoughtful, relatable, empathetic, wise, encouraging, honest, professional, warm and funny. It's so hard to find therapists like Dan and I feel so thankful to have found him and his practice.
Brendan helped me out through a major transition portion of my life and continues to help me. He is excellent at his job and I highly recommend him.
I found Dr. Dan Wolfson to be a highly intelligent, professional and kind therapist. He has an in depth understanding of grief and loss, and creates an atmosphere of trust in his practice. His responses and questions are always thoughtful, and I felt heard and listened to, even at times when I was struggling to communicate.
Great listener, very calm bedside manner and allows the patient to discover things about them while acting as a sounding board for ideas. Professional atmosphere and thoughtful discussion, highly recommend.
I met Dan through the context of tragedy and loss, and over the years he's helped me through grief, stress, big life transitions, and so much more. His expertise, empathy, and relatability have made this person (once very scared and intimidated to seek therapy) much more open to this work. Very grateful.
